The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association’s (MOFGA) annual celebration of rural living features 1000-plus exhibitors and speakers, and emphasizes vibrant communities, sustainable living and local economies, while highlighting organic agriculture. The fairgrounds are open Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Vendor Pop-Up Fair is at Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm which is conveniently located across Crosby Brook Rd. from the Rose Gate entrance. Shop local craft vendors, visit with our herd of 39 alpacas, and enjoy some delicious food and ice cream. Wood Thrush Wilderness LLC will be there with a booth selling pack baskets and basket supplies. Great opportunity to check in about the business and upcoming workshops.

The Maine Sportsman magazine, in partnership with Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine, hosts the State of Maine Sportsman’s Show at the Augusta Civic Center. Last year, more than 7,500 folks were in attendance.
Our 2026 show will have new and returning exhibitors, seminars and demonstrations, and an archery station.
The Maine Whoopie Pie Festival is the largest annual event in Piscataquis County. We’re thrilled to introduce so many people to the community we love, but there’s no way to do it all in one day!
It’s impossible to keep something this good a secret, however. In recent years, the whoopie pie has gained popularity across the country and in shops from London to Hong Kong. Since 2009, the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival has been gathering the best bakers from around New England to offer samples and compete for prizes and bragging rights. And in 2011, the whoopie pie became Maine’s Official State Treat!
